COCHIN-MUNNAR-THEKKADY-KUMARAKOM-KOVALAM

Day 1

Arrive Cochin

Upon arrival at Cochin meet our representative, transfer to the hotel and check in. In the afternoon proceed for a half day city tour of Cochin.
St. Francis Church, the first European church in India built by the Protuguese in 1510 A.D. & Vasco da Gama was buried in this church in 1524 A.D. After visiting Fort Cochi proceed to Dutch Palace, Mattanchery, built by Portugese & presented to Raja, Veera Kerala Varma, as a gesture of goodwill. Visit Jewish Synagogue built in 1567 A.D. The scrolls of Old Testament are preserved here and copper plates inscribed in tiny ancient Hebrew script & the Chinese hand-painting tiles are eye catching.
Another interesting piece of attraction is the famous Chinese Fishing Nets. Traders brought these huge cantilevered fishing nets here from the court of "Kublai Khan". Fishermen in Fort Cochin still use these large nets, hanging from bamboo or teak posts to catch fish attracted by the lights suspended above the nets. Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 2

Cochin-Munnar (130 Kms- 4 hrs)

Today after an early morning breakfast drive to Munnar, upon arrival check in at the resort. In the afternoon proceed for the Tea Plantation tour at Chinnakanal. Evening free at leisure.

Day 3

Munnar

Today after breakfast a the resort proceed for a full day sightseeing tour of Munnar, visiting - Devikulam the idyllic hill station with its velvet lawns, exotic flora and fauna and the cool mountain air is a rare experience. The Sita Devi Lake with its mineral waters and picturesque surroundings is a good picnic spot. The lake is also ideal for trout fishing.
Eravikulam National Park
The 97 sq. km. park is situated in the Devikulam Taluk and is home to the Nilgiri Tahr. The Anamudi peak (2695 Mts) is located in the Southern region of the park. The park is breathtakingly beautiful and is easily comparable to the best mountain ranges found anywhere in the world.
Echo Point This scenic place gets its name from the natural echo phenomenon here. Echo point is on the way to Top Station from Munnar Meenuli It is noted for 2 acres of evergreen forests upon a huge rock. The rock is more than 500 acres in area and an ideal spot for mountaineering.
Kundala Dam Kundala is a picturesque town on the way to Top Station. The Golf Course which belongs to Tata Tea Ltd. is located here. The Kundala artificial dam is another attraction. Aruvikkad Waterfall is also near Kundala.
Mattupetty Dam The Mattupetty lake and dam , just a short distance from the farm, is a very beautiful picnic spot. The sprawling Kundala tea plantations and the Kundala lake are other attractions in the vicinity. DTPC Idukki provides boating facilities on the Mattupetty Dam. Speed Launch and slow speed motor boats are available on hire. Overnight at the resort.

Day 4

Munnar-Thekkady (110 kms-4 hrs)

Today after an early morning breakfast at the resort, drive to Thekkady enrooted visit Idukki Dam. Upon arrival check in at the resort. Rest of the day free for leisure acitivities.
Periyar
It is one of the best known wild life centers in India. The Periyar Wild life Santuary here offers a fairly good chance of seeing the great Indian Tiger in its natural habitat. The place is spread over 777 sq km in which 360 sq km is thick evergreen forest. At Periyar the major activities are Boating in the lake periyar (you may be able to see lot of wild animals like, elephants, deer, bison and if your are really lucky you would also encounter a tiger), Plantation Visit, Spice market, etc. Overnight at the resort.

Day 5

Thekkady

Today after breakfast, spend the entire day at Thekkady - boating through Periyar lake ever memorable... visit Periyar Wild Life Sanctuary, Murikkudy, Pandikuzhy etc. Overnight stay at resort.

Day 6

Thekkady-Kumarakom (120 kms-4 hrs)

After breakfast at the resort, transfer to Kumarakom and check-in. Later in the afternoon proceed for a half day sightseeing.
Kumarakom Nestled on the shores of the serene Vembanad Lake , 14 km from Kottayam, is the little picturesque town Kumarakom. The town consists of a cluster of little islands, and is part of the Kuttanad region. Kumarakom offers leisure options like boating and fishing to the tourists.

Water Bird Sanctuary:
Lying on the eastern banks of the Vembanad Lake, the sanctuary is home to exotic birds such as waterfowl, water ducks, cuckoos, wild ducks etc and migratory birds like the Siberian Crane.
Vembanad Lake: A charming picnic spot, this lake provides unforgettable boating, fishing and sightseeing experiences.

Day 7

Kumarakom

Today early in the morning (07:00 am) visit Water Bird Sanctuary: Lying on the eastern banks of the Vembanad Lake, the sanctuary is home to exotic birds such as waterfowl, water ducks, cuckoos, wild ducks etc and migratory birds like the Siberian Crane. Return back to resort for breakfast. Later transfer to Jatti, check in at the Deluxe A/c Houseboat and sail through narrow canals, paddy fields and coconut lagoons.

Day 8

Kumarakom-Kovalam (176 kms) via Trivandrum

Today after breakfast at the houseboat, disembark and transfer to Kovalam enroute visit Trivandrum for the sightseeing.
Trivandrum Zoo The Thiruvananthapuram Zoo, one of the oldest and the best in the country, actually forms part of the Botanical Gardens.
Napier Museum The 19th century English architect, Chisholm, designed the building, which houses a rare collection of archaoelogical and historical artifacts.
Shankumugham Beach Located 8 kms from Thiruvananthapuram city, the Shankhumugham Beach is a favourite haunt of sunset watchers. Overnight at the resort.

Day 9

Kovalam

Day free for Leisure - Spend your entire day at the Kovalam Beach which is one of the most popular beach hangouts in India.

Day 10

Kovalam-Trivandrum

Today after breakfast at the resort transfer to Trivandrum Airport/Railway Station for your onward destination.
